Parallel kit question

I already have a Honda 2200i (~$975) and was going to purchase the 2200i companion (~$1200) for when traveling and want to run AC.

Question: I just saw on Amazon I can buy a parallel cable kit (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...V4LT7BVB&psc=1 ) that allows me to just use 2-2200i as the RV power cord can plug into the kit. That would save me ~$250. Any reason not to get the kit and forgo the companion other than a direct connection? I'm sure some would be concerned about the connection but is that it? Anybody else using? TIA

That kit would work. It is how we did it before they came out with companion. I do prefer this type though https://www.amazon.com/WEN-56421-360...&tag=hydsma-20

That way you can just plug in your 30amp RV plug directly. And it doesn't matter that it is not made by Honda, it will work. Connectors are exactly the same.
