PD9280a RV Power Converters

My PD9280a RV Power Converters (INTELI-POWER) is over changing, this is the second one in 5yrs. Can anyone recommend a better converter?
Thanks

Over charging? How? Too high a voltage reading? Boiling batteries dry? What kind of batteries? Flooded Lead Acid? AGM? Connections clean and tight?

Progressive Dynamics is one of the better Converters on the market.

More information is needed before I'd condemn the converter.
Might also be a good idea to contact Progressive Dynamics for their input on the problem.

We are full timers about 6 days ago the the house breaker tripped. When I reset the breaker the unit LED lights were very bright, I didn't think anything about this because this happens every time when the convertor goes into boost mode.

The other day I was looking at my solar controller an it was showing 15.5V. I turned off my solar panel switch an watched the power level over the day. there was no change.

I have checked the batteries an the battery service inspection window are green.

I unplugged the convertor an the battery voltage dropped back to 12.6V.

I contacted the service center an got this back.

" If it is beyond the warranty the only option is to replace it.

Do not use it if the output is high. Usually when this happens the converter has gotten wet from a leak."

There is no leak were the convertor is installed, an because this the second unit in 5 yrs I'm look for something better.

I just changed out our WFCO converter to a PD. The 12 volt lights would go alternately dim and bright on about 30 second intervals. The battery is new.

The PD converter solved this issue.

I have had excellent results from IOTA in 4 different RVs. The base unit will put out a steady 13.4 iirc. Iota has an assortment of plug in modules for different types of batteries that change the charging profile and voltage during bulk, absrb, float.
Their tech support has been excellent and have never suggested “replacement”.
