Please help with next step with inverter project

After hours and hours of reading, I successfully installed a 2nd battery box, replaced the existing 12volt with a pair of 6 volt GC-2 batteries and installed a Prowatt 2000 inverter. YAY!

I currently move the trailer shore power cord from Generator when I run it to the inverter when i run it(yes, i shut down the converter breaker) because it is easy and electrical scares the hell out of me

Here's the thing - The wife needs a remote start generator. The ability to turn the gen on and off while in the trailer means a lot BUT that doesn't do much if she has to go outside anyway to move the shore cord over.

Can someone point me in the right direction on how I can fix this? I am hoping there is an easy way because again, electrical scares the hell out of me.

Thanks

This isn't as 100% simple as moving cords. BUT, it'll save you the hassle of having to worry about the converter and moving plugs around.

What I am planning to do is pickup a pair of the Xantrex "Inline Transfer Relays." There's another brand of the same thing that was recommended to me here but I can't find the name/link right now.

Here's my plan:

You're specifically looking at the 1000W inverter portion on the left. Coming off of that are 2 heavy duty extension cords. These are going to be ran/fished to behind my circuit breakers.

The "AC Input 1" of the "inline transfer relay" will be plugged into the extension cord - one per cord.

The "AC Input 2" will come from the power that is currently feeding my circuit breaker that I want to power with the inverter. In my camper's case, 90% of my outlets come from 2 breakers.

The "AC Output" will go back to the circuit breaker that I removed the wire from before adding the transfer relay.

How about a manual transfer switch that switches between the two power sources? I’ve seen some rotary switches used. They look similar to the BlueSea battery disconnect but are used for AC power. About $50 on amazon.

Maybe similar to this:

That is the beauty of using a combo inverter/charger. It does all the work. When shore power or gen set hooked up, it charges batts and passes thru ac to everything it is feeding ac to. When shore power removed, becomes a normal inverter. Converter can be disconnected from main breaker as it is no longer needed to charge batts.

I wired my inverter in, putting an isolating relay in the loop. The relay is connected in such a way as to be closed when there is no shore power and when power is connected, it opens and isolates the inverter. Why? If an inverter is permanently wired in, when it is supplying power to the rig, that includes the battery charger/converter, which will charge the battery from the inverter which gets its power from the battery. See the problem? I used to have a wiring diagram but now can't find it.
