Portable Inverter Alarm

Can anyone explain why a Schumacher 750W portable inverter would sound an alarm with only Wally Dish receiver plugged into it? TV on. Nothing else on. Battery monitor on Motorhome says batteries are 11.9 but multimeter says 13.12 and 13.27. Batteries are Trojan Deep Cycle 27.

Had same problem with cheap Walmart 450W inverter which was a “hand me down” from my brother so I bought a new bigger and better one.

With both batteries at full charge, If both inverters have alarmed with low voltage and your coach is showing low voltage it sounds like you have something between the batteries and inverters that is drawing the voltage down. I don't think its the inverters.

This morning my coach battery monitor says 12.4 and both batteries read over 14 with the multimeter. Didn’t run the generator or plug in solar panel. How can I have more battery power this morning? This isn’t the first time this has happened but it never happened before I bought the inverter.

i'd table the concern about the inverter and look into why the the significant different between the battery monitor and the batteries themselves. which is correct? if the battery monitor (11.9 volts is correct) the inverter may be seeing a low battery condition, especially if it is portable and has to be plugged into something some distance from the batteries. inverters are normally installed within a couple of feet of the batteries.

I would not trust the multimeter. If your batteries read 14V after a night of use and they were not being charged, something is wrong. Batteries sitting over 8 hours with nothing charging them should not be 14V.
