Progressive Dynamics

can anybody help?
installed new progressive dynamics charge wizard PD9270 in 2017 Forrest River Georgetown 24w3, batteries dead, installed new batteries, when plugged to shore power, converter comes on, when unplugged converter shuts off, dont know much about electronics. but would think that the converter should always be on, even after unplugging from shore power, otherwise how does it know to continue monitering the charge on the house batteries? help?

Well being as the converter needs 120Vac input to output 12Vdc, shore/genny power are the only sources for that. Normal operation for you.

Just a couple pointers. The coach batteries must be connected to receive charging from the converter (the chassis battery will also be charged). The engine alternator will charge the coach batteries whether connected or not. The light bar in the battery disconnect switch will illuminate whenever shore/genny power is on the coach. So it's a good idea to press the top half of the disconnect switch to insure the coach batteries are connected if they were not connected prior to applying shore/genny power.
