Pulsar Generators

Does anybody have any knowledge about these generators? It seems to be a decent generator with good wattage and remote start.

PG4000ISR | Pulsar
Thanks

Who will do warranty work on them?
I can say that there are a lot of more popular brands out there.
Such as Champion.

If I were in the market for a generator I would go with a Champion 3400 watt for about $100 more than the Pulsar. Has great reviews, is quieter and a 3 year warranty.

We have a Champion and it works great. Had an issue with the remote start due to a bad choke solenoid. Local distributor is close by and he fixed it for $50.00. Quiet and works great.

Then I bought a new Honda 3500 inverter with the aftermarket remote start built in, what an awesome generator, much quieter on economy mode that the Champion.

I have a Pulsar at our cabin, for those times when we have lost the grid - it's a manual pull gas 30amp model, and has worked just fine for our very infrequent needs.

Wally world also has a great in-stock 120/240v twistlock style plug generator, also with several 120v outlets, for $494 instore, or $429 with free shipping online - Powermate WX5400

There are lots of good buys on Contractor style generators.

Inverter generators are typically recommended for R/V use as MANY campgrounds have noise level requirements the Contractor style generators can't meet.

Interesting.
4000w peak and 3500w rated is the largest I've seen in these smaller/portable inverter generators. It will be interesting to learn more about it.

Not an inverter generator, which is what the OP is interested in.

he didn't mention anything about an 'inverter' generator, nor the need for it for his 'rv'...he just asked if anyone else could give advice on a Pulsar generator, period.

If I am not mistaken the Generator he shared was a Invertor. Grumpy gets you no where in life, take a chill pill.

OP.

Looks good, give it a try and let use know. I have a Powerhouse that meets our needs just fine even though its not a Honda which is twice the price.

They did mention something about an inverter generator.
Their link in the post was to an inverter generator.

And your advice on the Pulsar was to look at Contractor style generators instead?

Maybe I missed your intent?

I was asking about an invertor generator. It would be used for our rv. The link was for an invertor generator. Hope this clears any confusion.

Just to add to your confusion... Menards has a Westinghouse iGen 2500 on sale that should run a 13.5 AC with no issues and possibly a 15k unit. Weighs just under 50lbs. $600.

I don't have one, am watching to see what the pundits have to say about it.

Congratulations on post 2000!!

Hard start kit it might run 13.5 k BTU AC. It is a bit light on running amps for long term operation though. Maybe a size up. My browser says $549 and I am in Canada go figure.

Thanks!

Out of curiosity - are you getting the iGen 2500? Who has it for $549? Or is Menards offering it for $549 Canadian?

I've seen a number of posts where a 2k or 2200 watt starting gen will do a 13.5 AC. 2500 watts advertised on the Westinghouse site has a number of folks saying it runs their AC without issue. Overall, reviews seem to be positive but still some of detractors.
