I am using a CPAP and I did a case study (with my personal case) on battery evaluation while using the CPAP. If you are interested, I am attaching the file for your review. If you have any comments please forward them to me.

The only issue is cost - $2-3/night.

Really not the same thing at all. CPAPS are for people who have Sleep Apnea. In my case I would stop breathing 40-60 times per hour. With CPAP programmed for my specific needs I now stop breathing 1-2 times per hour. These are computer controlled and recorded with a "chip" to check on different parameters of your breathing during sleep.

Don't be fooled by nasal strips. These are not what you may think they are.

I'm surprised that nobody has said "Just get a Zyppah!"

Yes, snoring is not the same as sleep apnea. Some of us need positive airway pressure to continue breathing while sleeping. In my case and in many other the trachea partially collapses causing the airway to be blocked. Without CPAP I stop breathing at least 70 times per hour.

Nasal strips or extra oxygen in the nose will not help.

Thanks Jack for mentioning the difference.

Bobby

Well done.

My pressure starts at 16 and can go up to 19 although it usually stays at 16. I am guessing that I would deplete the battery quicker. I stopped using a humidifier about 18 years ago.

These aren't nasal strips (a la Breathe Right), and are FDA approved for sleep apnea, which I also have. They are only available by prescription.

From their website:
Provent Therapy utilizes a proprietary MicroValve technology developed by Theravent, Inc. The device attaches over the nostrils with a hypoallergenic adhesive. During inhalation, the valve opens, allowing the user to breathe in freely. When exhaling, the valve closes and air passing through the nose is directed through two small air channels. This increases the pressure in the airway (called EPAP or expiratory positive airway pressure), maintains pressure and helps to keep the airway open until the start of the next inhalation.

BTW, I've got no skin in the game. Just suggesting a viable option that works for me.
