Receptacle usage while driving
Hey guys, I have a Dynamax Isata 3.....which we absolutely love. However, I am hoping to equip this coach to allow me to work while on the road. The receptacles in the coach that aren't associated with slide outs are supposed to work while the vehicle is on. They don't. I've reached out to Customer Service and not had any luck. The fuses for the system that are located under the cook top are all fine....the inverter is fine.....and the receptacles work fine when hooked up to outside power. They just won't work when we're driving. Would sure appreciate some guidance from the experts out there. Thanks in advance for your help.

It sounds like the inverter is only powering select outlets, perhaps for the refrigerator?
It may require changing the inverter to a "whole house" configuration if it's large enough. Simple solution might be to just add an extension to a dedicated outlet so you have A/C while working.
I assume you do have someone to do the driving while your working

Receptacle issue while driving
The inverter is a CSW1012 1000W Pure Sine Wave unit that should be plenty large enough for the receptacles. There is a GFI type reset that I could engage, but the green light on the remote is on and there is no "warning" or other light on the system that indicates trouble.

Do any of your outlets work when the inverter is on?

The USB ports in the cab work, and the 12V plug in for the cigarette lighter, but those may both be tied to the Sprinter electrical system.

If that GFCI is inline with the inverter and dead outlets resetting it will most likely restore power. The light on the inverter control merely shows that the inverter itself is running but doesn't indicate whether or not the outlet(s) are being powered.

I was asking about 120VAC outlets.

The 120V outlets work when hooked to house power and when on the generator, but not when the coach is being powered by the vehicle motor.

Sounds like it may be an issue with a transfer switch that changes from Generator or Shore power to Inverter power.

That's the area that sounds the most logical, but I'll be darned if I can figure it out.

I believe this post...."Hits the Nail on the Head." Inverter is strictly for "Select outlets only....example...Frig.
Maybe BC will jump in here.....as he would know for sure.

I'm sure you know that the inverter only powers certain outlets so I won't go there. I stuck a small sticker "I" on all that are powered by the inverter. There is a circuit breaker on the end of the inverter between the outlets (see picture). It is hard to see in that small compartment, maybe use an inspection mirror. Mine has popped a couple times and just needed to be reset. To eliminate the inverter as the problem you can plug in a standard extension cord to the outlet that is not being used on the inverter and see if you get power.

Receptacle issue while driving
Thanks for the response! I will follow your advice and let you know. I did have some communiation with two of the ladies from Dynamax Customer Service. No joy there....not sure they understood the questions, but they did indicate that outlets, other than those in the slide outs, should work while the vehicle is under way. I'll try your solution!
Thanks again,
Rick
