Red face Refrigerator Blowing Fuse

I have a 2006 Sierra 32QBH Fifth Wheel.

On our last camping trip, the refrigerator worked fine. However, after 12 hour on the road on the way home we stopped for the night, and I noticed there was no power to the frig. There are a couple of other thing on that circuit, so I looked and sure enough I had a fuse blown. I replaced the fuse and it immediately blew another.... I have done a bit more trouble shooting, and determined that the refrigerator is the cause. (I unhooked the hot wire to the back of the frig, and the fuse doesn't blow)

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a component that I can replace, or am I looking at a thousand bucks (or more) for a new refrigerator?

Might be worth it to take the fridge out and see if there is anything burnt on one of the board or corrosion or something that doesnt look normal
or
you could always call the manufacture to help troubleshoot it to a control board or something else -

I think the Fridge either had a 3 or 5 year warranty (depending on Manufacture and model) so might be worth it to look into that.

Mine had a bad ground connection on the circuit board and kept blowing the glass 110 fuse on the panel board under the outside cover. The dealer fixed the bad connection and has not blown since. Cost me 48.00 labor. It did still operate on gas when that fuse was blown, however. Randy

Can't tell you what's wrong but control boards are replaceable and they aren't cheap
but they aren't a grand either.

I made sure the switch was in the off position when I replaced the fuse, and it still blows. I am wondering if somewhere something got dislodged during the drive in from Colorado, and is causing the short. The fuse blows before you can even get it in the socket.

If you're satisfied the short is in the refrigerator I'd disconnect the 12v power
at the back of the refer and try again.
If the fuse holds you know it's the board or something IN the refer.

It's a tough way to test. You need to buy fuses in bulk

Good luck!
