Those two little generators supplied our 5th wheel RV with 30 amp power, enough to run one 15K air condition. Used six gallons of gasoline every 24 hours. Noise level was very low, inside camper, you could not hear them running.
Walholler, I would be interested to know what auxillary tank setup you use. I purchased two EU2200i units last year, one being the companion, and have yet to pair them for RV use. Ran them both at my dad's on the Mississippi Coast after a hurricane went through last year. I've seen a couple of marine tanks that looked to do the job but not sure of the right cap to split to the two gennys. My NoBo has a 15k btu Coleman Mach and I want to be able to run the AC through the night without waking at 2 a.m. to refill gas. Any info you could provide would be appreciated.

There are many tanks, caps, hose systems that you can purchase, or just buy the caps, any nurse tank and DIY with fuel line, valves, splitters, etc.

Also lots of DIY videos to do this. Google is your friend

We have a Honda 3000 watt inverter/generator that is less than 1 year old. I'd love to have a system that will allow me to hook a 6 gallon tank to the Honda. I've got a tank with a hose that has a similar hook-up to an air compressor line but much smaller. Can I hook that to the Honda and extend my fuel capacity and run time?

I'm a little fuzzy on how the cap works. Does the special cap go on the generator or on the auxiliary tank?

The 3000 needs the tank to higher than the genny. The beauty of the 2000's is there is a fuel pump that will suck the fuel out of the aux tanks so they don't need to be elevated. YouTube and Google will be your friend with explaining how to set it up.

That video links to a guy that bought a 15gal tank and a extended run cap off Amazon....Those caps are like $15 not a bad deal if you ask me. (if you look a little harder you can find them a little cheaper even)

I have a pair of Honda EU2000i's with the parallel kit and connect a Bergs extended run tank (comes with new fuel caps for quick connect) so they can run overnight for A/C in hot weather. A real godsend when night temps are near 100 degrees.
I've ran them in Walmart parking lots and campgrounds. People in TENTS 25 feet away never knew they were running until saw me shutting them down one morning as they are very quiet.
The Bergs sysem is excellent, leak free, easy connect and provides ample fuel to run both gens all night plus.

Positioning the auxiliary tank above the generator is not problem. We will have the generator in the back of the tow vehicle and it's just a matter of having a stand of some sort built higher than the top of the generator Does anyone make a ported cap for the EU3000is and is that all I would need?

I looked at all the videos on YouTube and very few, if any, deal with an auxiliary tank for our EU3000is. The ones that do are somewhat vague or I'm a little dense.

the 3000 isnt the prime set up for an extended run system like the 2000's are. Quick search yielded a very expensive cap for the 3000's

I've a friend who stopped carrying gasoline for his Honda EU2200i once he converted it to propane. I figured that wasn't a smart idea until I realized it wasn't some kluge he made on his own. He plumbed it into his two 40 lb propane tanks for his camper and never deals with gasoline anymore (his truck is a diesel). I'm thinking of doing the same.

Running your generators with propane can be a good idea depending on circumstances and type of use. You will go through a lot more propane than you would think especially if running the heater or a/c. My friends who decided to try propane only now carry an additional 100lb propane tank when boondocking for more than 3 days. And they always bring additional 20lb tanks also, mainly for grills and such. That's a lot of space.
You will also get less power output from propane which could cause problems.
Gas and propane both have advantages and disadvantages.

We were at a race dry camping. Anywhere you find loud cars and motorcycles there aren’t too many folks that object to generators at night.

Holly crap Batman. Just bought 2 new EU2200’s and didn’t know it was bluetoothed w/app. LeRn new stuff every day.

Hopefully when you are camping in a area with no neighbors, dispersed area or desert.

Its a super quiet generator very comparable to a Honda EU3000...

Doesn't matter how quiet. I don't know of any developed campground that allows running generators through the night. They all had specific generator hours.

Hmmm. I can name 3 campgrounds off the top of my head within 4 hours of home that allow generators to run around the clock in their primitive areas. Those same campgrounds provide hookups and forbid generator's to be run in those area's. One of those 3 is a state park.

If you boondock with one of the new "more better" electric fridges, you need to run a generator a lot. Even a night if it's warm or lose food by about 6:00 in the morning. My experience even with 2 Trojan 6volt batts. There isn't enough room on the roof for enough solar and it doesn't work well at night! The FR engineers obviously don't camp with out commercial power!!
