Solar panel

I’m considering using a 1.5 watt solar panel to keep my shore batteries charged while in storage. After doing more research the panel directions say

“not to attach panel to battery or power grid without proper regulator, inverter, and/or charge controller.”

My unit is an 08 Georgetown XL that as an inverter.

Can I just use it or do I need to get a power regulator.

Thanks to all.

I purchased this kit which produces 1.39 amps charge and includes the regulator.
