Solar panel

Hey all, I purchased a fifth wheel RV going on 2 years ago. I have always wondered about a solar panel attached to and wired to the roof AC unit. I'm just wondering if it's still working how much power it could provide. I'm full time so saving on electric would be great. Any info provided would be great. Thanks and........

Your solar panels will be charging your 12V battery(s) so there is no direct connection to the AC unit. If you have an inverter you can run 120V powered devices but I haven't ever heard of anyone running an air conditioner from an inverter (draws a LOT of current).

That's a really small panel. If I had to guess, judging by the size maybe 10 or 15 watt? At that size it could be just a battery maintainer. I can't imagine it having anything to do with the AC unit, but just a convenient place to mount a small panel for some sort of accessory or as a battery maintainer.

X2, looks like a small wattage battery maintainer.

Thanks all for your answers. It is small so I guess it is some sort of tender, charger for the house battery.
