Solar Panels

We just bought a 2019 Salem 31kqbts..
We currently do not have power supply on property yet..
We want to use solar panels til then , we thought of using a generator but afraid of the noise ..we were offered the 100 watt solar kit from Harbor freight from a friend and noticed the connectors aren't the same..
#1. Can I get connectors to make work?
#2 any one here use the harbor freight ones before? , I've seen alot of good reviews on them..

We are parked on an open lot with wide open skies so figured solar was good enough ..

Just connect the output of the solar charge controller direct to the battery. If it works for you then research how to use the built-in solar ready plug.

I've read that some of these are merely plugs wired to the battery and may not be clearly marked pos. and neg. Best to check with a voltmeter before something is damaged. And there's no charge controller, panel is direct wired to the battery. More of a marketing gimick "solar ready" than a useful connection IMHO.

How many watts do you use per day? How big is your battery bank? Do you have an inverter to occasionally run the AC high power sucking items like microwave or coffee maker?

Just for reference, our TT was supposed to be "solar ready" and has the GoPower Solar on the Side plug on the front face of the trailer. When I checked it out, the wires from that plug go about a foot, get made into a nice bundle and are zip tied to the frame - they are connected to nothing...

just bypass this 'extra' plug and go directly from the solar controller to your battery(s)...

Like others have said, when most rv makers say "solar ready" all they are really doing is providing a direct port to the battery. In a PV (solar) system, you will have the panels and a charge controller before the battery. The charge controller adjusts the voltage and current of the solar panels so they properly charge your battery.

There are several styles of solar ports on RVs. One is ZAMP which is basically an SAE automotive connector but the polarity of the pins is reversed from a typical SAE connection. Another style is what you have by Furrion. CNLinko makes those. Here is a link: (I am not affiliated with the seller or the company)
