Exclamation Suddenly, No Running Lights!

We had Camping World do a complete install of a Roadmaster flat towing package on our 2002 Georgetown 325, which added our 2005 Subaru Baja as our new "Toad."

8 months later, after being sheltered in storage, we finally take "The Trip".Once it got dark we realized that none of the side markers or running lights work on either vehicle. We DO have head lights, brake lights, hazards, and turn indicators.

Questions: 1. Where are the fuses for the running lights? I checked the ones under the steps as well as the mains in the back bedroom. Am I missing the appropriate fuse panel?

2. Does the black, three position rotary light switch on the dash control the running lights as well as the headlights? Or is there a separate "On/Off" switch that I am not aware of? We bought the coach used and the printed documentation is no help.

Help! I'm 800 miles from the Camping World service center that installed it. I can run a multi-meter and know basic electricity. I just need to know where to look.

Thanks guys.

Here is the owners manual for a 2002 ford F53 motorhome chassis. The fuse and relay for the running lights are in this manual.

They are probably part of the chassis electrical. Look under dash and under the hood. Don’t know what chassis you have, Ford, GM..etc..

The problem you’re having is more with the chassis under your “home”, as in motorhome rather than the Georgetown part.

We need to know if you’re a GM or a Ford chassis.

On my Mirada which is on a ford f53 frame under the dash/drivers side far left a few inches above the floor, there are two fuse boxes one above the other. the f53 manual will tell you which fuse to check. On my Mirada the running lights are in the top fuse box.

The manual Bubbles supplied above says your chassis fuses are located on the floor in front of the brake pedal and you have to remove he cover to see them. Every fuse used is labled in the manual but not all are clear so you might have to inspect a few. See page 41.

Make sure your toad is not connected while you hunt and possibly replace a blown fuse. If all is good on the motor home, then connect to the toad. Best to have everything off when plugging in so you don't pop a fuse during that process.

Loose wire in 7 pin plug.........

We lost running light illumination. A check by RV repair shop revealed that a wire in the factory 7 pin plug was loose. They replaced the plug with a manual screwed down terminal 7 pin plug

He said the problem with the factory 7 pin is not unusual.

Running Light Failue

The OP said "none of the side markers or running lights work on either vehicle."

Was he referring to the Daylight Running Lights which are really the headlights on reduced power or was he referring to the marker lights on the sides and top (front and back) of the motor home? What did he really mean by "running lights"?

Thank you all for your input and insights.

The Georgetown is on the Ford F-53 chassis, with the V-10 Triton engine. I'll check the forward fuses and let you all know.

Those fuses are almost impossible to work on. Right on the firewall ahead of your left foot. You need to be small or very bendy.
The other fuse block is also on the firewall in the engine compartment almost dead center. The cover unlocks on the right side.

Running Lights

I have the same Ford chassis under my Winnebago Class A with the V10 engine. The fuse panel the left of the drivers left foot is easily accessible because I have a driver’s entry door. I took a picture of the panel which I can send.
