I would call Surge Guard, That one year warranty means nothing. I just had mine replaced after 3 years from them, because the read out was unreadable. I called them to ask a question and they just said what is your address. 3 days latter I got a brand new unit and a shipping label to send the old one back. They told me that they will stand behind there product. They also told me they are upset that CW is selling a second year warrenty with there product, when all people have to do is call if you have a problem. Maybe I just got a person in a good mood that day, but I would definitely call them very nice to deal with .If I have to buy another it will be a PI didn't have the extra monies when I bought the Surge Guard, but you do need something....
