Switching thermostat-need help

switching original t-stat with Honeywell digital (RTH2300/RTH221 series)but wire hookup slight difference. Honeywell really don't give wire instruction very well.

Wire hookup:

Original: Red-7.5 Yellow-cool White-Furnace Blue-High Fan Brown-low Fan Green- Ground

Honeywell: labeled B O G Y W R Rc

I assume: G-Green(ground) Y-yellow(cool) W-white(furnace)

Not sure about Original Red, Blue/Brown(Fan)-usually use high fan
Not sure about Honeywell B O R Rc

Any input would be appreciated, thanks

Giving information on the make/model thermostat you are trying to replace will help us give you better information.

Also, there are a bunch of threads on thermostat replacement here on this forum.
You might try a search if you haven't done so.

You can replace the thermostat with any battery powered digital units (walmart has them for something like $18.) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Honeywell...683#about-item
You will have to decide if you want hi fan or low fan since most off the shelf thermostats do not support two fan speeds. There are articles on the web for putting in a small toggle switch to allow you to switch speeds if you really want to.

If you have a Coleman Mach, this should help. If you don't, it may still help.

Here's my writeup for our switch from the Coleman Mach analog to a Supco 45034 digital. Photos, diagrams, video and links included.

Mods - Digital thermostat

I have a basic analog Domestic 3107610 t-Stat in it now. Just don't know which wire from domestic red(hot) and blue(high fan) to connect to Honeywell. Honeywell B and O are for heatpump. Honeywell R and Rc I assume are hot. Basically no instructions in this book. Thanks

So I could run red wire to Rc and jumper between both R and Rc. Not sure to run high fan to.

Appreciate the input. Wife wants to go camping monday so I have a few days to fix it. Thanks

I have a Honeywell RTH2218 so I could just hook up high fan to G connector. Red to Rc and jumper to both R and be down.

I think I got it. Thanks to everyone for your help. Appreciate this forum.
