Trailer Battery in Texas Heat

I live in Central Texas. The tongue of my travel trailer faces west and gets the afternoon sun. The battery is in its box and behind the propane tanks. Should I remove the battery and store it in a cooler place when not using the trailer? Sometimes I go months without going on a trip, although hopefully that will change soon. I will also be switching to two, 6 volt golf cart batteries, so no need to suggest that!

It is not as hot as the one in the engine compartment of your TV.

Yes, it is on a charger.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just check the water levels regularly.

May, or may not help.

I develop communications equipment that is mounted in outdoor environments.
We have run tests on various paints and powder coatings in different colors.
Interestingly the heat absorption or reflection is more a function of the paint surface than the color.
One of our mechanical engineers was able to demonstrate certain black paints that showed cooler surface temps than certain white paints when exposed to sunlight.

Best bet is to add a sun shield.
