Viar air pump DC cable extension

I have a Viar 12v DC air pump. It attaches directly to the battery and specs say truck must be running to use it. The cable and the air hose gives me enough length to air up all my tires. I would like to be able to use it to put air in my air bags which has a Schrader valve mounted at the license plate. I'm about two feet short. Is there an extension for the air hose or can I splice some extra length into the DC cable without creating a problem? Any suggestions would help..Thanks

I believe you can get a longer air hose. They make a 35’ hose

Thank you Aimar. I have the 90P model and I'm not sure if I can add an extension to the hose. Some have a twist off chuck that allows you to use an extension but without knowing I'm kind of unsure if I want to try and twist off the chuck. Viair's website doesn't state if I have a twist off chuck.

Couldn’t hurt to try and call customer support. Their customer service has been top notch in my experience

Where is the battery for your camper located

I keep my Super Flow compressor in the basement of my 5er right next to the battery. The air hose easily reaches all of the truck tires and my air bags as well with their Schrader Valve nest to its license plate

I carry a small battery booster pack for emergency jump starts. It works fine for running the air pump.

Use jumper cables man! Nice thick heavy cables for low line loss. Great extension cord you probably already have.

Not sure about an air line extension since it looks like the 90P does not have 1/4" quick connect air line fittings. It might be easier to extend the power cord to it. Buy the cord in the attachment from Amazon and extend it. Just make sure you check the amp draw and wire size first.

Talked to tech support at Viair as Aimar suggested and they gave me the part number for a 6' extension hose that will work with the 90P. (P/N 00016).If that doesn't work I have jumper cables as Kris suggested. Thanks everyone!

Jumper cables!
Connect one lead of your jumpers to the jacket of the other. Lay it on the ground as you might to prep to jump another car. Connect the other end to your battery on your TV or the tongue of your rig.
Now connect the alligator clamps on your Viair compressor to the end of the jumper cable on the ground. Watch your polarity...red to red to plus and black to black to minus.
Voila: extension cord.

Since you obviously have really good jumper cables in your TV, this is a no-cost option for gaining about 15' of additional cord using very large gauge wire.
If you don't have really good jumper cables, this is a perfect reason to buy them.

I've used this technique many times. And I've saved many other stuck, unprepared campers with my jumper cables.

It looks like the connection next to the gauge will unscrew, you can get a short air hose with 3/8 female to female ends and a coupler to add the additional hose. I would not set the jumper cables on the ground with a running vehicle, that is a quick way to take out your truck. Another poster recommended a longer 1 piece hose, you can unscrew the hose that is attached the pump and attach the new hose. If you do add a new hose make sure you use pipe tape to help seal the connection.

Among the choices, extending DC wire or a longer hose/extension, the longer hose is the best.

Longer wire means higher resistance and greater voltage drop which can damage the compressor's motor. It's not unusual for a small compressor to have to run fairly long to fill a large tire to high pressures. The motor gets far hotter with low voltage.

Best to keep the compressor close to the power source and use a longer hose.

X3 on the jumper cables. If you don't have them already, spend your money there. If you do have them, problem solved for free.
