want to use 12v power off of Winegard 12v socket/antenna booster switch wires
hope someone can help me out.
i got one of these for the cabinet back wall, above the tv.
i'm mounting it next to the Winegard tv plate
i want to tie in the wires from the 4 in 1 panel's on-off switch, to the 12v power +/- wires of the Winegard.
any suggestions how to do this?
Thanx

Here is a picture of the back of the wall plate from the Winegard installation manual.
You should be able to easily tap into the 12v positive and 12v negative wires that attach to the TV wall plate to power your new item.
Just remember, you'll be limited on current draw of the two plates together by the gauge of the wiring and the fuse that feeds it.
I often skin back some of the insulation, (about 1/4") wrap the new wire around the old wire and solder, then wrap with tape. Tap into the 2nd wire about an inch from where you tap into the 1st wire. If ever the tape comes loose, the bare wires would never touch but quality electrical tape will not give you issues.
You could always replace the push on plate connectors to include both wires within each connector.

5picker's post is the best option as there isn't enough room on the board for the piggy back spade connectors. As far as connecting to the on/off switch, it's not possible as the switch is soldered directly to the board, there are no wires on the switch.

I cannot be sure from the line drawing, but it looks like the connectors to the antenna plate are slide-on connectors, the ones that A-MP calls FastOn. See the image.
A really clean way to make the connection is to cut the current connectors from the wires. Then strip the existing and new wires, twist them together, insert the pair into the connector, and crimp.

I think i found something that will work without rewiring.
Looking at the 12v + and - wire connections to the male spades on the back, i can use this adapter to connect the 12v wires and the + and - wires from the panel together on the single spade.

I just have to find someone local to get them.

12 volt power
Should be no problem. I used this to power a 12v car radio I mounted in the overhead cabinet. Works good last a long time. Just cut wires and splice in connection to your device.
