My PD converter works fine. If I had a cheap BMS I might be more concerned. Nice thing about solar, I really never need the converter.

Basic design says you should not rely on the robustness of one system to cover short comings in another. Like the 737 max. I want the protection on the BMS, sure. But I don't want my forgetfulness to put it to the test.

Then I don't understand the problem. There is no float voltage needed for lithium. Even the CEO for BB says that. The BMS stops all charging at a certain voltage. If it doesn't, you need a different BMS.

It stops it at high SOC.

14.6 maybe
It is not a great idea to keep them at 100%. Great if you want to top them before use, but I do not want them at 100 percent all the time. I don't want to rely on the bms cutting them out. Different strokes for different folks and all that. I come from an area of engineering where redundancy is important.

You don't leave them at 100% when you store them. Keeping them at 100% while you are camping is not a big deal. How many days are you planning on camping in a year?

Hopefully 2 months on the road in two years. Retirement is calling.

Keeping them at 100% for 60 days is nothing.

Be sure to subtract the time in those two months on the road when the batteries aren't at 100% SOC. Like all the lunch stops when power is drawn from the batteries for water pump, microwave, lights, or whatever. Likewise for any overnight stops in Rest Areas, Parking lots, etc.

"Camping" is a far different scenario to the batteries than "Storage".
