What is this? (12 volt DC circuit breaker)

Recently got a new (for me) 2017 Forester 2251 and the house battery was shot (previous owner let the cells get down low on fluids, exposing roughly half the plates!). When I yanked the battery and went to install two new marine batteries in parallel, I noticed the positive lead has this little gizmo in-line. What is it? I'm assuming some sort of fuse, but didn't play around with it enough to determine. Thx.

I had a blade fuse for my power tongue jack. I replaced it with one similar to this with the proper amperage. Now I just press a button and I am back in business. Some are auto resetting.
Good luck.

Many have these for breakers for their Leveling systems as well as used as a battery breaker. If my levelers ever fail...that is the first thing I look for.

Smile Fuse

Itís a 12 volt resettable fuse. If you look closely at the picture you can just see a bit of red or orange peeking out. If the fuse pops there will be a noticeable red flag appear. To reset it, just push the flag back in.

Iím pretty sure they are there to have something quit working in the middle of 5he night during a hailstorm.
