The Cherokee 38P has the same multi-switch unit as Illustrated (tank/battery gauges+DSI water HeaTeR+water pump.
The OP explained the "exposed screws" situation in post 12 above.

When I flip the switch on the outside of the water heater the element comes on and that inside switch doesn't effect it when checked with a volt meter. The screws are out of it since I had to order a new switch since I broke one of the blades of the back trying to figure it out. I will check to see if there are holding tank heaters like lazyjj suggested thus week when we go camping.

Click on the 5 right down there ==> #5 and see why I think it's a great design.

I understand your point of view. My personal preference is to have the ability to turn it on and off in the rig. (Remember, I live in a tropical rainforest and 'sweat' is a real thing when working on the rig.).
Plus I'd have to remember that I turned the electric on in the wh... and memory isn't my strong suit.
You camp differently than we do. We're 'short term' campers.

The confusing, unmarked, switch in my EVO turns on a light under the steps.

Okay we didn't get to come camping last week but we are here tonight and I checked and lazyjj was correct it is for the heated storage tanks. Thanks again for all the help!
