Where to put gas can while traveling
Purchased two champion 2000w generators including the parallel connector. Tried them out and they work great.
I have a roo 233s with the preinstalled 2 inch hitch receiver. I am going to put the generators (50 pounds each) on a cargo carrier.
Where do you put your gas jug while traveling? On the cargo carrier or in the back of my truck?

I keep mine in bed of truck. I have a bed cover. This way it's not sitting in direct sunlight, swelling up like a balloon.

The back of my truck holds everything that either won't fit in the storage area or I don't want inside my camper. Generator, gas, spare diesel, spare propane, sewer supplies etc.

PU bed for me. I use a proper metal can with a spring release that I think allows for built-up pressure, although I'm not aware of it ever releasing.

Yet another vote for truck bed under the fabric rolltop cover.
I will give a little caution about carrying them on a cargo carrier. They're an easy theft target back there and after market cargo carriers have had hit or miss luck with carrying things.

I will lock the cargo carriers with a cable and lock.
Curious what you meant by hit or miss luck and cargo carriers

Bumpers failing and dragging cargo down the road.
Just bear in mind, a dremel or bolt cutters will make sure work of a cable and lock. I wouldn't like to have such an obvious theft target hanging out there.

PU bed for storing gas to me is safer (somewhat) compared someone hitting your back bumper with gas cans located there. The question: Do you feel lucky?

Good point. If we're carrying any liquid, we tend to put the container in another plastic container in case of leaks. Sometimes just a contractor plastic bag works to catch any leakage and tying it loosely at the top will allow fumes to escape.
We kept gas cans in the back of the pickup truck. If we'd had a generator, that would have gone in the back of the pickup too. More work for a thief to get it out of the truck once tied down.
Those cargo carriers may not carry the weight if they are attached to the bumper and not the frame. They will definitely change the weight distribution of the trailer.

Milk crates are also the perfect size for a 20lb propane tank.

The reason I bought a dual fuel generator and the hoses to connect it to a bbq port.

Great tip. I always bring an extra tank for fire pit, grill, stove, etc.

I've always carried my extended run tank and 4 2.5 gal gas cans in the rear of my pickup. I put them in a large tub used for mixing cement for projects around the house. This way should any gas leak out of the containers, it's contained.

Bought this today! I think it will be in the PU bed. I may pull it out at campsites so it doesn't get to hot in the bed.
