Winterize Solar and Batteries?

I am likely parking the TT for a while and have my solar panels mounted on the roof and batteries connected and stored in the plastic box mounted on the tongue. Currently my solar controller is on keeping the batteries charged. Should I be disconnecting the batteries and storing them inside the garage or leave them hooked up? Do I need a trailer cover for the solar panels or are they ok to leave exposed? Our weather is quite sporadic in Colorado Springs so you could expect below freezing temps or up to 70 degree days in the winter. Thanks!

Check the fluid levels in the batteries (unless you have AGM batteries) once a month and everything is going to be just fine.

You don't need to cover the panels. They are very tough. The decision as to leaving on the TT for the panels to keep charged depend on several things.
1. If the panels will see sun ( not covered by snow) at least a few days every week or so. If they will get snow covered for the several weeks then pull the batteries.
2. How secure are the batteries ( from theft)?

If unsure, just pull them and store them fully charged. If you pull the batteries, it is recommended you disconnect the panels from the controller first.
