wiring issues

I have a cargo trailer with the 110volt upgrade. I have built cabinets in the nose and am getting ready to load up my bikes, when I noticed that the back outlet near the ramp, and the outside gfci are not working. The outside gfci will not reset, and the inside outlet shows with a tester that the hot and ground are switched. I pulled out all the outlets on that circuit and checked them out, and they are wired correctly. This is telling me that the wire is pinched somewhere in the run, from improper installation. Problem is that the inside is finished with plywood, walls and ceiling.

Questions is this. Does anyone on here know how they run their wires? Are they in the steel framing in the walls. Are they in the ceiling? Or in the 45 degree metal trim where the ceiling meet? I am hoping to fix this my self rather then take it to the dealer, as they are a bunch of numbnuts.

thanks for any help you can give

Has these outlets ever worked?

The gfci won't reset because it has to have power in order to be reset.

Did the tester show Hot and Ground switched, or Hot and Neutral switched? A switched hot and ground should cause a breaker to trip instantly.

tester shows hot and ground switched. yes, it should trip right away. I have to assume they worked out of the factory door, or they would not have let it go out. Think the wire rubbed against the frame, causing the insulation to give away to bare wire and cause the issue. The thing I cant figure out is why the first two plugs test good, then the third in the series test with switched hot/ground, when all visable wires are connected correctly.
