2013 Forest River Mini Lite 2109S tire spacing

I just aired the tires up for a trip tomorrow to the recommended 50 PSI. It has two tires on each side. After airing them up there is 1/2 inch
between the front tire and the rear. I checked and the tires are the correct size and air pressure is 50 psi on the side of the camper and states the same on the tire.

Does this sound correct or are they not supposed to be that close?

Thanks Earl

that sounds kind of close. on my rig if I switch to 15" from the stock 14" tires then I would be at the same 1/2 inch clearance. What size tires are on your rig?

They are ST205/75 14c which is what the sticker calls for.

Do you have leaf springs? Could be that something let go. It's unusual for both to go at the same time, but it's possible.

The 14" tires on my 21DS sit about 2 ½ inches apart.

As far as I know, all Rockwoods have torsion axles, so no leaf springs.

Have you actually measured the distance between the tires? stock tires being that close doesn't seem right if you picked up a rock of any size you would ruin both tires.

We have a '13 2104S eye balled about 1". 1/2 doesn't sound right. Is it the same on both sides?

You're right. They may be in the first stage of tread separation. Check their height against some specs. Average OD for those tires is about 26.1".

Got back with no problem!! The left side is less that 1/2" as stated but the right side is about 1". Are the axles adjustable?

4 new tires were ordered today.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner. It was the tires. Came back from our trip and replaced all 4 tires and that fixed it. Date code on tires was 2000.

Thanks everyone for the help!

I forgot I had this picture. It's of two tires off the same axle from the same trailer. The tires have the same size designation. One is in full tread separation and the other is not. Very good example of just how far the tread will expend before it fails.
