Aftermarket TPMS Recommendation ??

Newbie here........ looking for a recommendation on a basic (i.e., lower end) aftermarket 2 sensor tire pressure monitoring system for a small, one axle travel trailer.

Thank you !!

X2.
Installed the 4 tire version and we are very happy with it. No more changing batteries in the receiver.

Unfortunately, there just aren't that many choices out there for single axle TPMS.

Here's the deal. Your $150 investment in a TPMS can save you many times that expense if you have an undetected problem in a tire that becomes a complete blowout on the highway. Also, there is the value of your time, which many people ignore. I can take 10 minutes before each trip and check tire pressure manually (which also bleeds a little bit of air each time). Or, I can simply look at my TPMS display. Figuring that the typical repair rate is $125/hr, 10 minutes is worth about $21. So that, by itself, is 7 trips and the TPMS is paid for just in labor costs (not taking into account the 10 minutes it would take to install).

Love my TST TPMS, but if you're looking for the lowest end possible there's a ton out there. Just don't be afraid to dump cash on Alibaba Express, or Walmart's third party system.

The big question with a system like that is what is the range? It is not specified. This image suggests that it is for a motorcycle. So would the distance between the tires on a trailer and the receiver/display become an issue? I think so. I would not recommend using a motorcycle TPMS system with a travel trailer.

You make a good point, LCDR... but for $18, it seemed like a worthwhile thing to test.

The important point of the post is that there are EXTREMELY inexpensive TPMS systems out there (and therefore potentially suitable for some experimentation). If it doesn't work on his trailer, he can return it, use on a different vehicle, or - hell - eat the $18 and he's still ahead of the game.

There's still a wealth of low end possibilities to explore for someone who doesn't want to drop three figures for TPMS:

etc

So long as it's being used for supplemental monitoring (in addition to regular and attentive review of pressures and temps), I don't see anything inherently wrong with this route. It just doesn't give the maximum benefit that can be provided by a much more robust TPMS solution.
