Bigger Tires

I have a 2017 Cherokee. The one thing that has always bothered me. It has 14” rims and tires. I want to go to a 15” Aluminum wheel with 205/75r tires. I can’t find anyone to tell me whether or not that will work? I’m concerned about wheel studs being long enough going to a cast wheel instead of the stamped steel that is stock? I can do the measurements for clearance. I don’t think that will be a problem.

I doubt the wheel studs will an issue the type of lug nut maybe. If you do need longer studs its not an difficult change out JMHO. I found when I investigated changing to 15" on my rig the axles spacing won't allow enough clearance for the larger rim and tire.

I upsized the wheels on both of my 5th wheels, steel to aluminum rims on one, without needing to change the studs. I did go to Discount Tire with my rig to get the proper offset and bolt spacing for the rims and the correct size to prevent the tires from touching the rig or each other. Getting ready to do it again with our new rig. If you have any thoughts about converting to LT tires be very careful to meet or exceed the max weight that you currently have recommended for the trailer tires.

I have tires & wheels picked out at Discount Tires. So that’s a good suggestion. Thanks

One more thing if you haven’t already thought of it. Since you are buying tires and wheels....assuming you want to/capable of changing them yourself. You can order them from discount tire direct and MIGHT be able to save the tax. They also have better sales there sometimes. Just a thought.
