Brake magnet arm/ actuator question

It has been a while since I worked on drum trailer brakes....or any drum brake for that matter. I pulled the wheels to get new tires and figured I would inspect the brakes and clean/ pack the bearings. It is only 3 uears old with 1200 miles but whatever. Good thing I did. One brake magnet had the retainer clip come off. I got a new clip locally so I am good there. My question is how much play should the arm have on it? They all seem to move quite freely fore and aft as well as side to side. Not pendulum loose but a lot of movement. I know they have to allow for brake application but how much is too much?
I know, should have taken a video but it started to rain and I wanted to button things up before the innards of the bearings got wet.

They are loose. As long as all retainer clips are in place and the magnet has not worn excessively, you are good to go.

I too have found those arms generally loose.
How much is too much?? I suppose if it isn't falling off, then not too much.

They have to flex to allow the magnet to contact the inside of the drum/hub.
If all is connected properly you should be OK.

Thank you guys. It is one of those things that you never pay much attention to until....you pay attention to it  . All the mags are flat enough that I'd have to use feeler gauges to detect any irregularity. I have a feeling that it either came off recently or I knocked it off taking the drum off.
