I recently found only two of the 8 lug nuts hold the chrome covers of the wheel. One was lost somewhere on the road. Are the two lugs just decorative lugs which have nothing to do with holding the wheel on to the axle?
Is this for the spare or a wheel that IS on the axle?

They are decorative lugs but serve very well for holding the rim on.
Are you wanting to replace them?
If so then any Auto parts store will have something like them or just the standard lug nuts.
Take one with you for sizing.
