Cruise Control

I have a 2001 Forest River Reflection Diesel Pusher. On my last trip the Cruise control stopped working. I have taken it to two (2) repair shops ( has a cummings diesel) and both of them can not detect what the problem is. The last repair firm told me the diagnostic reader suggest it is a break problem, however, they didn't know how to fix it.

Has anyone else had this problem. My cruise control is operated by two (2) switches, one turns the system on and the other sets the cruise speed.

Food for Thought:
I had a F350 w/adjustable pedals. When I would go over bridge joints or small bumps cruise control would disconnect. I found so much slop in all of the brake pedal linkage. Brake pedal would bounce disconnecting CC.
I thought of removing adjustable and putting a manual pedal assembly in because dealer said it was fine; I disagreed. They would not do this swap because truck was not mfg'd in this way, but they would sell me the part. I sold the truck for other reasons. DPF would regen all the time....

Could be something as simple as the brake switch.
Sometimes they are too far out.
A little bump causes them to switch off the cruise.

This has happened to me twice. Both times it was a corroded connector in the steering column. Take the cover off the column to expose the directional switch. Disconnect the wire harness, it connects to the bottom of the directional switch. Clean the pins and put back together. It is about a 30 minute job once you have done it once. Took me a month to find the first time.

try pulling up (lightly) on the brake pedal and the parking brake pedal... either one might have a switch that prevents cruise control from working.
