Destroyed 7 Way Connector...This is going to happen to you!

I hate to admit this happened to me...twice! The first time I pounded the bracket out and the receptacle was OK, the second time was catastrophic. Not FR's fault, the hitch comes from the vendor that way, but hopefully not anymore. Dumb idea to use a 7 way connector as a skid plate!

But...for $12.00 on Amazon Prime https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1you can fix it so it never happens to you! Don't even have to re-wire the connector as the bracket has a cutout to slide the cable through, just remove the receptacle and put a saw cut in the old bracket side, slip out the wire through the cut...and re-install in a safe position. Quick job and it fits perfectly!

There is enough cable to put it on either side...I preferred the right side.

This is fine for some folks.
Not so sure about that "this is going to happen to you" part....
my 7 way is mounted in the bumper next to the center step/license plate area- as
are many late model trucks now days.
