EZ Lube Hubs/Spindles

FYI,

I am not trying to start a new, never-ending, debate about whether it is wise to use the EZ lube system or break down the hubs completely for a clean/inspect/regrease. There are merits to both.
However, as a word to the wise, I found the hardest part of using the EZ lube system with the wheel/tire on is reinstalling the rubbed dust cap. What a pain.
I ended up taking the wheel and the end cap off each of the 4 wheels (Forest River Sierra 377FLIK) to allow reinstalling the damned rubber cap.
BTW, it was easier to see the old grease coming out while pumping (and spinning) the new grease in thru the zerk fitting.

I hope this is helpful to others.

Yeah, I think you’re right. I prefer to pull the wheels and caps. I leave the caps empty when reinstalling them. I think this will allow for expansion when the grease warms up. Probably over thinking it.

I use the EZ lube during the season and then clean and repack them in the winter.
