Frame bolts loose

While attempting to repair a stupid mistake I made (bent stabilizer jack), I noticed a nut and lick washer was loose on a bolt apparently connecting the camper sidewall to the frame. Since there is a lock washer between the nut and the frame, I assumed it should be tight. I checked along the underside edge of my camper and found about eight bolts. Two or three were tight and the rest loose so I tightened them.

I assume they worked their way loose over with the frame twisting during normal use over the past dozen years. I just hope that by tightening them I don’t pull the heads through the wood wall framing when the twisting happens again.

2007 or 08 (I forget which) Salem Lite 21FBLE I’ve had since new.

I've found the same with our 2701SS. I mentioned it to my brother-in-law at one point and we found a couple loose at the front of their Jayco TT.

Looks like we are the only ones. Sorry for the poor grammar in the first post. I had spotty cell phone service and was typing on my cell phone.

They will most likely come loose again, put some locktite on there and don’t worry about it again. That’s what we did the second time it happened to us

You can remove JB weld with a MAP torch (it will get soft when really hot), but you always run the risk of catching things on fire.

Another option is to use lock nuts.
