Grey Wolf 27RR With 7000 lbs. Axles!

I have been considering an axle upgrade on our 27RR to 5200 lbs. six lugs when I ran across this 2018 27RR with 7000 lbs. eight lugs axles swapped in. It seems like overkill to me but 5200 should be very doable. I might even gusset and upgrade the frame. What do you guys think about this one?

Is there enough space between your tires when upgrade and have bigger rims and tires. I would like to run E rated tires on my rig but going to the bigger wheels and tires cuts the tire spacing to much. just something to consider.

I like the idea of upgrading to 5k axle. I feel like the 25RR and up Gray Wolfs should have came that way and with 15 or 16" wheels. For now I just ordered and received my new tires and wheels. I went with 225/75/15. I done know why a toy hauler with come with 14" wheels.

Can you post a photo(s) of your 26RR with the larger wheels and tires. If my GY Endurance ever wear out, Im doing the 5200 axle swap with the 6 hole 15's.

One pic with the old/new for size comparison. The other pic of both new wheel/tires. Got them from etrailer. I would say a good 4” from the top of the new tire to the wheel wells and about 3.5” in between

Does yours tow better with the 15's and higher LR? Are they inflated to 80PSI?

I can't tell any difference. As for pressure, I'm of the mind to run max psi on trailer tires. I've never had to replace a tire due to tread life.

I think the 15's look much better on your 26RR than the OEM 14's. Do you have any clearance issues or rubbing problem when making hard turns or backing into camp spots?
