Hartland Vs Carlisle Vs Goodyear Tires
Hey all!!
It's been a while..
Wondering what everyone thinks about these three tires. I'm ready to buy a barely used camper that's been sitting under a car port for 4 yrs. It's a Crossroads RV.. the Sunset Trail Reserve 33' bunkhouse ~8k unloaded. Not going anywhere.. the Crossroads RV forums are crickets compared to this one.
On the second time the PO towed with it last summer on a trip and blew out one of the OE tires. I'm buying the camper from him this weekend and it needs new tires.
Debating between these three.

Goodyear Endurance ST225 /75 R15 117N E1 BSW

I know the defacto answer is usually the Goodyear's. However, if I can save a bit and get some good tires I'll be happy. Interested to know if anyone has experience with these tires. I'm ok with replacing tires every 2-3 yrs.

I don't have personal experience but a number of folks on this forum have recommended the Carlisle tires. I have the Goodyear Endurance.

My trusted tire store sells Carlisle.
I asked about good years and he said sure, we can get them if you want to pay twice as much.
Then again, I have 30k miles on my Castle Rocks. I guess I'm rebel.

Tires
Had the Carlisle, when I replaced went w/ Goodyear Endurance. Even going from "C" rated to "D" rated it is a smoother ride. I notice less wiggle when towing, but may be due to "D" rated tire. One of the reasons I went w/ GY was to get a up rated tire w/ more load capacity. Also went from 205 to 215 to pick-up load capacity. GY was the only one I found w/ a 215/14" "D" rated. After 10K towing they are doing great, very stable. W/ the GY rebate, it was $40 difference in price from Carlisles.

Have the carlislie same size. Kept them at 80 psi. About 5000 miles later. Love the ride love the tires. 1000 % better then the original ones.

Discount Tire links
The two links for Discount Tire Direct didn't bring me to the tires, just the DTD website....

I would throw Maxxis tires in there also. I have used Maxxis, Carlise HD and bought the Goodyear Endurance the last time. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. Don't know anything about the Hartland tires. Good luck

I vote for the GY Endurance. You get a really good tire you don’t have to worry about and you support American workers.

Yepper I'd go Goodyear.
I have told this story before on another forum. I went to a local NTB dealer and he showed me the difference between the China made tires and American made.
He brought out a Carlisle tire and told me to push down on it. When I did I about hit the floor because it went all the way down almost to the floor. Same with a Westlake. He brought out the Goodyear Endurance and I couldn't budge it. I bet I didn't get it to bend a half inch. The China made tires were like pushing down on foam rubber the walls were so soft. He showed me some of the auto tires that did the same. All from China. Even a Goodyear auto tire made in China was crap.
If you doubt this go to a tire store / dealer who has them and test them like I did. You'll know what I mean then.
At least on this forum I don't expect my post to be used as another persons experience on a similar thread later, like it was on that forum.

Tires
I am looking to replace mine on a new to us trailer this year. I had GY Endurance and very impressed. The Maxxis 8008 are also excellent. In the same size the GY has a slightly higher weight rating. The GY also has more sizes to choice from, but is about $35 more per tire in my size.

I'm going to go with the GY Endurance...I was going to get them from Discount Tire...Then I decided to call Goodyear since I saw they offer a mobile service to have them installed in my area and the Customer Service Rep I spoke to offered me 15% off the price of four tires so that beat Discount tire by $82 and I can use the mobile service So it was a win win for me even if Discount tire could match the price they don't offer the mobile service

Tires
Thanks for info. Make sure they do not put a jack on an axle. I would watch them.

I am running hartland and have not had any issues. In fact, getting close to aging out so I guess I’m due for another set.
You can search for the tpms threads as it’s a great time to protect your new toy.

I am running Carlisle Radial HD tires on my 5th wheel toy hauler. I am beyond pleased with these tires for multiple seasons. This is my second set and I would buy them again. They ride and wear excellent.
I bought them from Discount Tire. If you find a better price online, they will match it. I did that twice...with trailer tires and car tires. If you show them the link to the lower price online..they respond immediately. They are great to do business with.

I'm on my 2nd set of GY Endurance. First set I had for about three years and I traded campers. The day I picked new camper went straight to tire dealer and had the GY installed. I saves $250 on mine through GY discount program. The handling is so much better on the camper especially when I had them on my TT even help improve mileage a tad about 1mpg they roll so much better. And the best part they are made right here in the good old USA about 180 miles from my house. Later RJD
