Good thing considering that the replacement shoes can be expensive, especially if for the Nev-R-Adjust brakes.
Good braking from the trailer is usually a good indication all is well with the brakes. To keep them that way an visual inspection with drums off is a REALLY GOOD idea. I pretty much inspect mine at 10k mile intervals regardless of the calendar.
