How to determine proper bearing kit

Hi - our TT has Lippert 3500# axels with LCI35-SB-85-68.5 part number on them (there is more beyond the 68.5 but it is hard to read - does it matter?). I am looking to do a repack on the bearings before our upcoming "big" trip and I wanted to get new seals and a couple bearings to carry as spares. When I look on eTrailer it appears that there are different spindle sizes for the 3500# axel. Is there a way to identify what I have without removing the wheels? I would prefer to have the parts on hand when I pull the wheels off...

TIA!

Perfect and thank you DW! Maybe I misread the info on eTrailer regarding different size bearings.

You're welcome. Glad i could help you out. One word of advice, though, when choosing your seals, opt for the "double lipped" variety. Better seal, and they last longer.

Our seals only have to last 12 months. Every spring I pull them off, clean and repack the bearings............ which means new seals as well.

The Double Lip are a good idea in any event though.

Things are warming up here, have a trip planned the end of Feb so time to get it done for this year.

if you are repacking bearings #s are on bearings and seal.
i if you have bearing failure its going to ruin the spindle ,unless you are spending your time watching for bearing failure .repack with Lucas Red and Tacky and you should be good for a year or so. seals dont just go bad except at bearing failure. a few pumps of grease in spring is what i do . 3 pumps, pull forward repeat , 1/4 turns at a time. just look for the grease to ooze out by keeper. it wont blow by seal if wheel is turning. i do the pull forward method it saves jacking up trailer to spin wheels for a quick grease lube up .
