Inner bearing

Took off 3 hubs to grease bearings before we head out . #4 wouldn’t come off and finally did get it free the race was seized to spindle . Any ideas on how to get race off my spindle? Don’t want to scare anything. I have a torch ? Suggestions? Great to find this forum . I have a pic but can’t figure out how to post it .

Yep, torch it. Done it many times at the marina I use to work at. It shouldn’t take much and you’ll smoke the seal, just don’t get carried away and overheat the spindle.

You can split the race with a cold chisel.

I've used a die grinder to "score" the race before using the cold chisel.

I know a lot of people will go for the "blue flamed wrench" but the risk to surrounding parts and spindle are unnecessary.

Scoring the race with die grinder or dremel with cutoff wheel will both weaken the race and also provides a place that keeps chisel from skating on the hardened surface.

Only have to stretch the metal a little to loosen it.
