If you can see the leaf springs you don't have torsion axles.

SInce the frame has all of the weight of the trailer on it NEAR the axles, why not just use jack stands in front of and behind the axles? No fear of twisting the frame at those points.

I do one side, then the other... too tricky for me to lift all four wheels at one time.

Make sure you have the metal valve stems put on and all tires balanced... many people say it is unnecessary to balance trailer tires, but I think differently.

Only jack on the axle underneath the leaf springs. If you jack on the tube you take the chance of bending it.

If you're doing that, just go on the Goodyear site. Goodyear has the prices pretty well fixed. Install was around $12 a wheel.

I just had my tires installed last week.. they came right to my house and did it in the driveway.

Select at-home installation upon checkout.

I just called GY. They gave me a 25% military discount and although no at home service available, they did set me up with a local shop. GY will ship the tires to the local shop and all I have to do is get the trailer there. The installation cost was included in the total price I paid GY.

Couldn’t have been easier!!!

Wow, bigger discount than I was told and didn't know they're including installation....that's an excellent deal!.....knew I shouldn't have ordered mine from Walmart.

Glad you figured it out. We had our trailer tires changed out at a Goodyear store and it couldn't have been easier. We did call ahead and see how to get it into their lot because it was set up for cars, not trailers. Once we knew that, it was easy and we were in and out in less than an hour (with an appointment)

Discount Tires had me pull to their tire pressure check line and installed Goodyear Endurance tires in about 30 minutes. No problem!

Honestly, the discount covered all the extra stuff like tax, fees and installation. It still came out to $137 a tire, $524 total. It’s $64 in installation fees but I am getting 1 of the old tires put on the spare (it’s newer than the other 3). But I’m still happy, this worked out great!

And I really appreciate all the help/advice!

You guys are great!

Why not drive the trailer to the Walmart parking lot and take a tire off one at a time?

Goodyear also has a service in some areas of the country (I'm in SoCal) where you order the tires online and they will come to your house to change the tires.

When I bought my GY Endurance tires for my trailer three years ago I ordered them online and had them delivered to my local tire store. I removed my trailer tires and took them to the tire store to get them installed.

When I bought GY Endurance tires for my Mom's trailer last year I saw they had added a service where they will install the tires at your house. They sent a very nice guy in a well equipped van with the new tires and he did an excellent job of installing the tires.

If this service is available in your area I highly recommend it.

New tires

I just bought new Carlisle's on line from wally world and they would not mount them on the trailer. Local Goodyear dealer directed me to a Goodyear commercial store. The Goodyear commercial stores usually work on trucks fron delivery vans to 18 wheelers. They had me back my rig into a truck bay (with a lot of help) and changed and mounted my new Carlisle's in under 20 minutes. Because they work mainly on trucks they are usually located in industrial parks. Cost to take China bonds off, put new tires on rims, balance and mount on trailer (as well as throw China bombs away) under $100.00 for 4 tires. Worth every penny!

Personnaly I would not buy trailer tires at Walmart. Go to Discount Tire and get the Goodyear Endurance trailer tires you'll be much happier and the price will probsbly not be that much different.
