Lippert Ground Control 2.0 Out of Stroke

My right rear jack has never been right since new. As soon as it comes under much load at all it causes the controller to sense "out of stroke". The trailer is now 3 years old and the jack continues to be a PITA.

I took the jack, gear box, and motor apart yesterday to troubleshoot the problem. Turns out the main internal jack screw was dry and rusty. With any load on the jack at all it would "bind" and cause high motor amperage draw.

I tried greasing the main jack screw, but that didnt work because there was too much wear already on the bearings and gears. I ended up replacing the jack.

Makes a good point for checking and doing maintenance when a problem is first encountered if recurring. Good you found the problem and fixed it.

routine maintenance

Agreed. Now that I am retired I can do much troubleshooting and routine maintenance. Given the trouble that people have getting quality RV service, it is helpful to have the time and skills to solve problems yourself!
