Lippert Level Up Hydraulic Levelers.

I had a weird problem today on the road.
I could not retract the legs.
They would extend, but no action in retract mode.
Hydraulic slides worked fine.
Matt at Lippert did troubleshooting with menon the phone for 60-90 mins. Very helpful.
Seems like the wire from.controller to pump/valves has a short/break. But only in retract -extend works fine.
Had anyone repaired wiring between contoller and valves/pump solonoid?

Fixed!

Troubleshooting revealed that a chip on the Level-Up controller was fried. It was the chip that powered the retract function (yellow wire).
I replaced the controller and it works as normal.
FYI: this happened when we encountered a cold snap in Georgia on the way north from Florida. Everything worked properly before that.
Fried chip is obvious on inspection.
I am planning to change ATF in hydraulics to synthetic to reduce viscosity in the cold.

Work Around

Working with Matt at Lippert, we figured out that swapping the yellow and green wires on the solonoid allowed me to retract the legs in an emergency.
That makes sense now knowing that the retract chip was fried but not the extend chip.
Of course, this is an emergency option.

After having a similar problem with my slides not retracting...due to a bad chip/relay on the Alta board, I carry a jumper wire which I can go from the battery to any solenoid to power it open. I mounted a wall switch in the battery compartment so that I can power up the jumper wire and then turn it back off when not needed.

SlowrideHD:
Is that because your pump worked but not the solonoid?
On mine, the solonoid opened but no power to pump motor.
Only in retract mode. Extend mode worked fine.

Right. The pump would run but you could hear it loading up as soon as it started running. So I checked voltage to the slide solenoid while running the pump and it was not getting power. At that point I just jumped a wire to the solenoid from one of the batteries.

The Cedar Creek techs changed out my Alta board for me at the Goshen rally, free of charge. The supplier of the Alta board wanted $200 for a new one. My dealer that sold me the camper did not have a clue what was wrong...even when I explained what was going on.
