lippert level up leg leaking - repairable?

i have the lippert 6 point level up system on our 5th wheel. one of the front legs has a small leak where fluid is leaking down the leg and puddling on the pad that contacts the ground. it's currently not bad but it's not going to get better by itself. it looks like it is leaking at the seal where the movable leg goes retracts into the cylinder.

does anybody know if there is a rebuild kit or replacement seal that can be installed into the existing cylinder? or is this a replace the entire cylinder job? any idea how difficult it is? are parts lippert only or do the various supply houses carry them?

thanks

Any shops where you live the repair hyd. systems. Ask them, they may be able too. One near me does and also makes up hoses.

In all likelihood those cylinders are standard cylinders that LCI used, so any good hydraulic repair place can resource and replace the seals.

I did a quick YP search and it comes up with several hydraulic repair place near you.
J&L Machine is one, Prescott Hydraulics is another.

I had the exact same thing happen to one of mine. The independent repair shop I took it to looked at having a local shop repair it, but ended up just replacing the entire cylinder. I can't remember whether it was cheaper, or the hydraulic shop wouldn't do it.

But it was an easy fix. The system is self-bleeding. No more leaks since then.

I'd call Lippert to see if they have a rebuild kit.

Thank you. I did call lippert and they do not have rebuild kits. I really liked the comment about these being self bleeding. That makes it much easier. I’ve contacted a local mobile RV tech and he says he can do it. So i’ll Survive. Thanks for you input. It makes me realize that this is not a major repair.

Good deal. I believe the entire replacement took about 20 minutes. We did run the jacks up and down about 8 times to get all the air out (the self bleeding part). You can actually watch the air bubbles as they exit via the reservoir. It seems we added less than a quart of atf for fluid lost during the replacement.

I took mine to a hydraulic repair shop. They installed a new seal, with the jack still on the trailer. The RV dealer (warranty work) was going to remove the jack, send it to a repair shop, then reinstall the jack. "It takes about five days", he said. We said "can't we just drive to the repair shop and get it fixed without removing/reinstalling the jack"? It took about 1-1/2 hours to replace the seal.
