Looking for New Tires for Our Camper

Hello. We are new to the Forum, but I came here to ask about tires for our 2007 Rockwood Freedom 1910 pop up. Due to COVID, we didn't take it out at all last year. We pulled it out yesterday to clean it and get it ready and discovered that the tires have some dry rot on them. We live in central WV and have called everywhere looking for some. The tires on it are 145-R12. One place told us that those are very hard to find. My question is, can we move to a different size without altering the axle or other fixtures? Do campers now have bigger tires on them?

I look forward to your answer.

Thanks,
Joyce

A quick search turns up a bunch of different tires available on Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/st145r12-trai...2+trailer+tire

You may have to order online and then have a local place put them on.

No trying to hijack thread since OP asked about going up in size but we, too need new tires on our tt.

According to our shop Goodyear has quit making endurance and there are none available in back stock.

They recommend Hercules tires. Does anyone have experience with them? Thanks.

According to the Goodyear webpage, they appear to still be making them.

Thanks fir the responses. Just talked to Goodyear rep and the ones we want are out of stock with no estimate on when will be available.

Yes, Amazon has, but don’t want to get from there (less than great experiences with “used” being sent rather than new) and then have to get them mounted and balanced.

Cooper tire makes Hercules, good company reputation, made in Ohio, and wonder if anyone has experience with them.
Thanks again.

Was inquiring on Goodyear Endurance tires for my boat trailer (have them on travel trailer) and the dealer said that Goodyear has halted production on them as they are trying to catch up on the ATV tire market.

I recommend ST145/R12 with a LRE. They provide a maximum load capacity of 1520# per tire for a more than adequate 3040# to support your axle loads.

Re: Looking for New Tires for Our Camper

Thank you to those who replied to my question. I did end up ordering the size recommended off Amazon. We just wanted to get them and get them on within a couple of days. Ain't gonna happen. Should be here Saturday.

Tires

When we had our pop-up and went to replace ties, hard to find. I found I could get the tire and wheel from Etrailer.com for about $10 more than ordering the tires before installation. Simple tire is where we ordered our last tires for our 5 th. wheel.

Sounds like you’ve already ordered your new tires but in a size ST145R12 trailer tire I’d look for a Carlisle brand tire. Unfortunately, Goodyear Endurance and Maxxis M8008 aren’t manufactured in that size.

I've been using Hercules for many years on my Jeep and older truck. I put a set of them on my 5th wheel two years ago.

My local Discount Tires just ordered four for me yesterday. Should be in Thursday or Friday.

They did try to order Carlisle tires for me. The manufacturer told them there is about a 60 day backorder. But It seems they can be found in and around online though.
