Manual override stabilizers

I have a salem cruise lite TT. The battery is disconnected. I am able to manually raise the rear stabilizer with the hand crank. But it will not go clockwise to lower now. Any clue as to what to do would help.

You may have already tried this, but if the TT isn't level they may just be sticking. Try using your foot to push the pads down to get them started, then try the crank again.

Thanks. I was able to move them a little bit down but the crank was still too tight to turn. I was afraid to really give it a hard crank for fear of breakin somthing. When I raised them the crank was real easy to turn.

Try looking for something that is binding. Maybe use a mirror and flashlight to run along the length looking from the top. Unless the giant screw (not sure what it's called) is bent, maybe something kicked up off the road and lodged in the track. Presumably it's only one stabilizer that's hung up and not both.

Thanks. I'll take a closer look in a day or two after Dorian has passed to the North. For now it's no biggie since it is sitting in my yard in the back. Just seemed odd to me that the crank was very easy to turn counter clockwise to lift and frozen to turn clockwise to put them back down. I only lifted the pads about an inch to try out the crank handle I just bought in case of a future emergency. Naturally, I pulled the battery and brought it into the garage so it will be a pain to carry it back out and attach it to make sure the motorized stabilizers still work.

Sounds good and stay dry. My stabilizers worked very smoothly both directions the couple of times I've done them manually, so I agree with you about not forcing them.

Using jumper cables and a vehicle's battery is quick for what you are trying to do. I do this throughout the winter to move slides. Just use good heavy cables.
