Metal tire stems

Planning on buying 4 new tires for our Wildcat, should we install metal valve stems? We have TMPS sensors that screw on the valve stems. Thoughts and recommendations welcomed.

If they are flow through monitors you should. Since they are bigger than regular monitors.

Yes definitely install metal stems. Even the non flow through sensors flex rubber stems at highway speeds.

I have been camping almost 20 years and rarely had a tire issue. I wear my tires out from use or an occasional nail. Recently we installed cap style tpms sensors on rubber valve stems. Multiply stem failures. I went to the high pressure rubber stems we still had stem failures. Also a FYI. We had tampering/vandalism to our stem while at a campground in Alabama(we will never return! 2 of my rubber valve stems were kidded and damaged. Per the pre trip check pressures were fine, a mile down the road valve stems failed completely. My tire guy told me to put metal valve stems on wheels. This will take care of the two problems: rubber failure and vandals.
Safe Travels
Note: it does NOT take much time to destroy a new tire along with the safety issues along the road changing to a spare once you fine a safe place to change it. Carry spare stems!
