The way I understand it, the metal stems will work for both size holes. The rubber washers on each side are big enough for either hole size. That's what the Amazon post above shows.

Thanks for the information...I just sent them an email asking about a suggestion for the metal the valve stems I have the Lionshead Lynx 14x5.5 wheels.

I picked these up at O'Reilly I will see what they say my tires install date isn't until March 20th so I have some time to confirm if the ones I picked up will work or if I have to get different ones.

Those are the wheels I have. Those valve stems at .625 will not fit your wheels. You need the .453 dia stems.

The hole in the wheel is bored into the aluminum. I don't think the external nut will fit. The ones I referenced have an internal nut.

Ok I just want to make sure....JRK341 sounds like he is implying that the ones I have in pic #22 are 5/8 which won't fit the .453 hole and they are two large on the website it says they fit .453 so I'm confused.

I was just on oreilley's website and it does state both. If you have them just measure the rubber washer. Do they have 2 sets of rubber washers?

Something is wrong . I can look at the pic and tell you immediately that rubber grommet does not fit the .625 stem hole .

After looking on their website I think like WMtire said you will be good with what you have.

I walked over to my shelf. Here is a pic of three different clamp in valve stems that all fit a .625 hole. You can look at the base of each stem and see the lip of each grommet compared to the distance to the outer edge.

The clamp in stem on the far left also has the optional rubber grommet so it can be used in a .453 hole. Look at the top grommet for the .453 hole and see the distance from its lip to the outer edge.

The one pictured on oreillys page is the .453 grommet even if the text states different. They have something wrong but it seems other members have bought that same part number for their .453 wheels. I will have to do a search as we have discussed this multiple times on the forums about the oreilly stem and see if the part number is the same.

The diameter of my recessed hole is 1.65 cm or 0.65 inch. Any bolt, wrench to tighten bolt, and washer would have to fit in there.

Also looking at picture on post #38, why wouldn't that nut (without a locking nut) unwind after a while? And some of the many metal stems I've looked at would not either fit in the recess, or were socket-inaccessible to tighten.

Post #36 shows a inner mount stem with locking nut.

Post #20 shows a stem that costs a whopping $1 each with text regarding high quality. ???

There is also this "choice" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...QQNC9U2F&psc=1

So ... what is a good choice? Am I overthinking this?

Mr. Obsession.
