We're leaving soon with our Salem Cruise Lite for Kentucky on one of the hottest days of the year. We just got a digital, temperature gun and wondering what are acceptable running temps and what I should be concerned about. We'll stop every 2 hours of so and I'll check the hubs. In the past, I've used the finger touch technique, but I'm going "high tech" now. Thanks
I would say as long as they are all within a few degrees of each other you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If you have 3 that are 150 degrees and 1 that is at 175+ (Those numbers are just fictitious) you may have cause for concern.

I check mine every time I stop for gas. Just this past weekend, with ambient temps in the low 90s, my TPMS system showed tire temps of about 92 degrees. Using a digital temp gauge, the brake drums measured 99-101 degrees as measured on the drum close to where the bearings are.

Getting a true bearing temp may be tough because if you've adjusted your drum brakes shoes correctly they will drag slightly for several miles until seated. Magnets may also drag slightly creating parasitic heat.
