Nitro filled tires? Any opinions??
They tell me....don't worry, these are GREAT! Won't lose pressure, if you need a little pressure on the road put in a bit of air.
Does anyone have experience with these?

While I don't have any first hand experience with this, the air we breathe daily contains about 78% nitrogen. I don't know what they charge for a 100% nitrogen fill but personally, I would take that money and put it toward a tire pressure monitoring system. JMHO.

Yes, no, maybe. There are many threads on this. If you search, you'll find all you want and more. I will say though, they do lose pressure. I usually have to air mine up at least 5 - 10 pounds before each trip. And I use regular air from my home air compressor.

I was skeptical myself, but so far I haven’t had to add any air to the factory nitrogen filled tires yet. We’ve only had the Silverback for just over a month but we've been on three trips with the trailer. Time will tell I guess. If I have to add pressure to the tires I’ll will be adding air. Air is free, nitrogen isn’t.

It would be interesting to see a pressure rise/ temp rise difference
Between nitro and air filled tires with those of you that have tpms
systems.
any one any one one? Bueller?

Based on aerospace industry research (I did it personally), nitorgen is only necessary if your RV had retractable landing gear and can do a couple of miles at 150 mph with a dragging brake.
Total waste of money. Why not fill them with hydrogen and make your rig lighter?

Just a quick thought..I heard that nitrogen has larger particles in it and that's why we don't lose air in our tires. I have had to add air in my Cedar Creek once to keep my pressure up to 105 lbs. Usually air will leek out just sitting. We've been to AZ and back to MI twice with this 5th wheel and the tires stay at 105 moving or setting on a lot. The one I had to add air to was left rear that the stem came loose for some unknown reason as we were checking tires to leave our winter site this year, I tightened it and added about 10 pounds to bring the pressure back up.. I think there is some good to nitrogen filled tires and you can just add air when needed. After all it is air...

The only true way to put Nitro in is totaly evacuate the Air out of the tire, with a vacuum pump and fill with Nitro. I have never seen a tire dealer do this. I use air. Youroo!!

Thanks
I appreciate all the opinions, the fact is the new rig has this feature and I've had no experience with it.

Yup...mine did too. And as the pressure got low, I added regular old air. It's certainly not worth me trying to 1) find a place with that sells nitrogen; 2) hook up my camper and pull it there; and 3) pay the exhorbitant amount I've seen some places asking for it.
Air works fine for me...your results may vary.

I found no good reason to be concerned about air or nitrogen. I removed the "Nitro" decal and will use regular method to fill tires. Local Les Schwab dealer could give no good reason to use nitrogen unless maybe I was dealing with tires on a race car on a track that might generate extreme heat.
So for now, it is good ole compressed air from my own compressor.

Been using air for over 56 yrs of driving and will continue until I start pushing up daisies. See no benefit in nitrogen other than making somebody else more money which is definitely not to my advantage.

I often wondered when I seen some labels on TT that had nitrogen filled tires, where do you get the nitrogen when traveling down the road? We used to air our struts on aircraft with hp air, now they use a nit cart to fill the tires, accumulators and struts. I guess I will continue to use just plain air since I can't afford a cart plus I don't plan on no rapid altitude changes with my rig.

I will let you know after the May long weekend. I put nitrogen in the trailer tires and have TPMS to put on also. I will be monitoring the new toy lots to see how much the tire pressure varies after tires warm up travelling.
