Polyurethane bushings

I am going to put the dexter ez-flex equalizers on our Apex 249rbs.I was thinking while I had the leaf springs loose I would replace the rubber bushings with polyurethane bushings. Has anyone done this? If so,do you think it was worth it?

Thanks
Jeff

Used to do this on 4X4's a lot in past years. Benefit was so-so if replacing good rubber bushings. Noticable if replacing 30 year old rubber bushings that had rotted.

Since you are tearing the springs out for another reason, and want to go to the effort of removing the rubber bushings then go for it.

Pay attention to the instructions and if they call for a special lube when installing, don't ignore. Some of the poly bushings can squeak enough to drive you nuts if it's left off. If the bushings are impregnated with a dry lube they then are quiet(er).

Jegs sells a silicone grease for that type bushing. Coat everything that touches metal. Stops squeaking and keeps most water out. Have been using for 30 + years.
